Ulli’s Greenhouse Hot Spot

Ulli’s greenhouse is a picture of beauty. Luckily, we found an old metal greenhouse (about 18 x 36 feet or 6×12 meters) that somebody had been using as a heating house for their swimming pool and they wanted to get rid of it. So we deconstructed that old piece of junk and moved it to our property. After a lot of work and even more questioning as to why we didnt just buy a better one ($5000 more had we bought one!) we sank the foundation in cement and raised the plastic. We made a long table out of local Larch wood and Ulli, Simone, Igi and Scott have been planting ever since under the supervision of Ulli of course. You see, this is Ulli’s Greenhouse and it is a picture of beauty.

Ulli’s vision is to fill the greenhouse with a variety of vegetables, flowers and other plants. Right now growing in the greenhouse are tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, chilies, tomatillos, physalis, broccoli, cauliflower, chard, fennel, bunching onions, regular onions, basil, parsley, celery, okra and many others. The diversity of small plants, and diversity of their varieties mimic the diversity of species that can be found in the web of life. Thus our motto, Hof der Vielvalt — We Farm Diversity. This is Ulli’s greenhouse and it is a picture of beauty.
